What’s Wio Securities?

Wio Securities is approved by the UAE Securities and Commodities Authority for dealing in securities as a trading broker in the international markets and dealing in securities portfolio management. All customers have access to trade in the US and UAE markets, as well as virtual assets.

What are the markets we support?

What is the settlement period for trades?

We provide instant settlement for all trades. Cash is credited to your account immediately after you sell your investments. T&C applies.

What are the commission fees for trades?

UAE:

  • Abu Dhabi Exchange (ADX): 15 bps

  • Dubai Financial Market (DFM): 27.5 bps + 10 AED per order

US:

  • NYSE & NASDAQ: 0.20% per order, with a minimum of $0.50 (previously $1.00) & a maximum of $4.95

Crypto:

  • Crypto: 0.5% of the order amount (Charged by Fuze)

How is my account information protected?

At Wio Invest, we take your account security seriously. We have implemented security protocols such as multi-factor authentication to protect your account and assets from fraudulent activities.

How do I access my trade confirmation and account statements?

You can find all reports related to your investments within the Invest section in the application

What order types are supported?

We offer market, limit and stop orders in the US Market, while in the UAE Market, we only offer market and limit orders. For virtual assets currently only market orders are supported.

Can I set up recurring investments?

Yes, we support recurring investments for all instruments in US, UAE and virtual assets

What taxes are applicable on my investments?

For a Non-US Resident, captial gains from US securities are not taxed. However they may be subject to withholding tax on dividends paid by US companies and US estate tax. Kindly be informed that Wio Securities does not offer tax, legal, or investment advice. If you require information on tax matters, it is recommended to consult with a licensed professional.

What is a pattern day trading violation (PDT)?

In the US markets, a pattern day trader is an account that executes four or more “day trades” within any rolling 5-day period and if the portfolio balance is below USD 25000, as defined within FINRA Regulation T and Rule 4210. If you violate this rule, your account will be restricted for 90 calendar days, during which you can't trade any new positions. For other markets, PDT rule is not applicable.

Can I transfer securities from other broker to Wio?

For UAE markets, to transfer your securities from another broker to Wio Invest, initiate the transfer from the central securities depository of the relevant exchange. Download the ADX application for ADX and the DFM application for DFM. Follow the steps outlined in each application to complete the stock transfer process. When selecting the broker to transfer to, ensure you choose BHM Capital, the trading member we have partnered with for access to the UAE market. Upon successful transfer, you'll receive a notification, and within few days, the shares will be visible in the app, ready for trading.

For US market, to initiate the transfer, simply log in to the main hub page, click on 'Invest', then navigate to settings by clicking the circle in the upper right corner. From there, you’ll find the option to transfer your shares to Wio Invest.

Can I transfer my securities to another broker?

For UAE and US markets, you can transfer your securities from Wio Invest to other brokers.
